Bristol Photographic Society is one of the oldest photographic groups in the South West of England. The origins of the Society can be traced through to a number of mergers in the early 1900s and today it is still actively providing a vigorous programme catering for the wide photographic interests of its members.
The Society is fortunate in owning its own premises and is thus able to encourage complete freedom in providing a variety of separately run programmes: an annual photography course, meetings, outings, competitions, specialist groups, a library and studio facilities, all held in a friendly and convivial atmosphere.
Bristol Photographic Society is proud to host the annual Bristol Salon. This is one of the most prestigious international photographic salons within the UK, and regularly receives entries from some of the best photographers worldwide. Many members, new and old participate too, providing a great opportunity to showcase their own work.
The Society meets every Wednesday from 7.30pm to (approx) 9.30pm. *COVID-19
Currently due to Covid 19 the club is not meeting physically. Bristol Photographic Society is still active with weekly meetings via Zoom (including some international speakers) – new members are always welcome.
As a special concession, prospective members may join the first three Zoom meetings free of charge as a trial before full memberships is payable.
